Vegan BBQ Pulled “Pork” Loaded Nachos

This one is for my Vegans!!!!

Around every corner in Jamaica, theres a man selling Jackfruit and let me tell you, Jackfruit is the BEST vegan substitute for pilled pork, texture and all.

These Vegan BBQ Pulled “Pork ” Loaded Nachos will surly be a hit at your next event. I’m sure you could fool your friends with this one 😉


  • 5 Cups JackFruit Flesh

  • 1 cup BBQ sauce of choice

  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil

  • 3 cloves garlic, minced (about 1 1/2 teaspoons)

  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika

  • 1/2 teaspoon liquid smoke

  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder

  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder

  • Corn Nachos

  • 1/2 cup Corn

  • 1 med purple onion

  • Sriracha to taste

  • Cilantro - optional

  • Fresh Lime

  • Jalapeños - Seeded

  • Salt and pepper to taste


  • How to prepare the Jackfruit: You have an option, either you can have your kitchen and house covered in the gum from the jackfruit, or you can ask your stall man to seed it for you. If you are not from Ja, sorry to say, you have to use the tined on :(
    *If using the tin, drain and wash*

  • In a Skillet, over med low heat, ad your oil and garlic. After 2 mins, Add your jackfruit in. Begin to shred into pork like 'strings'.

  • Add, BBQ Sauce, Liquid Smoke, Garlic Powder, Smoked Paprika, Onion Powder and Liquid smoke. Salt & Pepper to taste.

  • Cook on low for about 10 minutes.

  • In a Cast Iron Skillet, Add your Nachos. Load up your Pulled "Pork", Corn, Purple Onions, Drizzle Sriracha and top with jalapeños and Cilantro!

  • Place in The oven at 350 degrees for 10 mins.

  • Squeeze lime juice over and serve.

Tips & Subs.

  • The Jackfruit is sweet, I suggest a tangy BBQ sauce vs a Sweet one.

  • You can Add just about anything to these, avocado, tomatoes etc.

  • If you are not a vegan, ADD CHEEESE! :)
