Pepper Shrimp Dip

Prep Time: 10 minutes

Makes about 2 cups of dip


  • 8 oz cream cheese, room temp

  • 1/2 cup sour cream

  • 2 to 4 Tbsp of lime juice

  • 1 teaspoon nutmeg

  • 1 1.7 ounce bag of Dried Pepper Shrimp

  • 1 Tbsp red pepper flakes, add more to taste

  • 2 Tbsp finely chopped fresh parsley

  • 1 Tbsp Garlic Powder

  • Freshly ground black pepper to taste


  • In a medium bowl beat together the cream cheese and sour cream until smooth. Add the lime juice.

  • In a food processor, pulse together the dried shrimp and the cream cheese mixture.

  • Return to the bowl and stir in the Garlic Powder, Nutmeg and Parsley. Add the red pepper flakes and black pepper to taste. Refrigerate for one hour before serving.

  • Garnish with red pepper flakes and parsley.

  • Keep chilled. Serve with crackers or pita chips.


  • To use as a spread, minus the sour cream.

  • You can soak the dried Shrimp in a little milk over night to tone down the heat.

  • Our international followers may find it hard to find Mr Lee's Pepper Shrimp for this recipe, I've added a link below to find them on Amazon. You can also use Dried Shrimp and add some scotch bonnet, cayenne or chilli pepper to substitute
